The real problem is not that people are lazy or un-musical- it's just that the basic chords are just a little too hard to play. It is especially frustrating because they say it is easy.

It takes a surprising amount of dexterity and coordination just to form even a couple chords. It is time-consuming, and it hurts your fingers a surprising amount. It just takes too long before it sounds good, and there is a kind of a "wall" in the way that keeps most people out.

So many ads claim they have secret methods and tricks for making it easy. Isn't there a way to make it easier? It makes sense that there would be one.
