The one-finger G chord is then paired with the 3-finger D or D7 chord so you play the same 2-chord songs available with D-A7, just in a different key and with even less bass resonance.

Other much-advertised "easy" guitar methods start with 1-finger C-G7 chords that skip even more bass strings. You still can play only the same small group of 2-chord songs.

This at least puts you in the key of C, which is good for classrooms and kid's voices. The downside is that the guitar has more "bad" notes, still less resonance, and the other basic chord you eventually need if you are going to play more than 2 chords in the key of C is the dreaded F chord, which stops most beginners cold. So how can you make basic chords easier so people can really have fun from Day One?
