The internet and music stores are full of books and videos that claim to show even idiots and dummies how to play guitar easily. Every town has guitar teachers. Years ago there were ads in comic books that claimed you could learn to play guitar in 30 minutes.

Search for "easy guitar" on the web. There are a staggering number of web pages, books, videos & lessons all claiming to have the answers. The web is a free-for-all, with a lot of hucksters and bad information, and it's hard to know who is right.

Why aren't there more campfire strummers? Is something wrong with these teaching methods? Do they work or are they scams?
